Electric Press Brakes: All-Electric Servo CNC Press Brakes
RAGOS NG Series all-electric press brakes from 25 to 80 tons: hydraulic-free, quiet and precise for small and medium sheet metal parts, sold and supported by Tube Form Solutions.
What Is an Electric Press Brake?
An electric press brake, also called an all-electric or servo-electric press brake, drives the ram with servo motors instead of hydraulic cylinders. There is no hydraulic pump, valves or oil. The control positions the ram directly, so bends repeat closely from part to part, and the motors draw power only while the ram moves.
RAGOS NG Series All-Electric Press Brakes
The RAGOS NG Series is a hydraulic-free press brake line driven entirely by servo motors, built for small and medium precision parts.
- NG-2508: 25 tons × 800 mm, six-axis all-electric
- Models up to the NG-8025: 80 tons × 2,500 mm

Electric vs. Hybrid vs. Hydraulic Press Brakes
| All-electric | Hybrid (servo-hydraulic) | Conventional hydraulic | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drive | Servo motors, no oil | Servo-controlled pump and cylinders | Constant-running pump and valves |
| Energy use | Lowest; power only when moving | Lower than hydraulic | Highest |
| Noise and maintenance | Quietest; no oil changes or leaks | Quieter; less oil | Oil, filters and seals to maintain |
| Tonnage and length | Small to medium (RAGOS NG: 25–80 t) | Wide range (RAGOS HG 50–400 t, HM 80–640 t) | Wide range |
| Best for | Small, precise parts at high volume | General fabrication to heavy plate | Heavy, simple bending |
If your parts are mostly small to medium and you value precision, low running cost and a clean, quiet shop, an electric press brake is a strong choice. For long parts or heavy plate, a hybrid such as the RAGOS HG or HM Series gives far more tonnage and bed length.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are electric press brakes better than hydraulic?
For small and medium parts, electric press brakes are usually more accurate, use less energy and need less maintenance, with no oil to change or leak. Hydraulic and hybrid press brakes offer much higher tonnage and longer beds for large parts and plate.
What is the largest RAGOS electric press brake?
The RAGOS NG Series goes up to the NG-8025, rated at 80 tons with a 2,500 mm bending length. For more tonnage, the RAGOS hybrid HG and HM Series reach 400 and 640 tons.
What is a hybrid press brake?
A hybrid press brake uses hydraulic cylinders driven by a servo-controlled pump, so the pump runs only when needed. It combines high bending force with lower energy use and noise than a conventional hydraulic machine.
Should I buy a press brake or a panel bender?
A press brake is the most flexible choice for varied parts. A panel bender automatically bends all four sides of a panel with minimal handling, which suits high volumes of cabinets, enclosures and doors. See panel bender vs. press brake.
